This week on Monday will be the spelling/dictation and vocabulary quizzes on the personality words. We'll begin studying the next group of words.
This week for grammar, we'll finish up the present tenses and have a quiz on present continuous v. simple present and then we'll work on prepositions of location and have a listening quiz.

We are going to practice reading comprehension by reading about mysterious places. You can read more about these and other fascinating locations around the world here: http://www.mysteriousplaces.com/. We'll also write a paragraph about an important place, as time permits.

First you will sketch out your personal seal. Later you will use Microsoft PowerPoint to make your seal on one slide and save it as a .jpg image. You will also write a paragraph about your personal seal. The paragraph needs the following:

descriptions / explanations of the parts of the seal
a conclusion
Later you will post your personal seal and your paragraph on your wiki page. You will also make a brief presentation to the class. The instructor will show a sample.

During these weeks for grammar, we'll begin our review of simple past tense. We'll work on pronunciation of regular verbs and begin to memorize the most common irregular verbs. We will be practicing listening, speaking, and problem solving using this story:
For writing, we'll revise all assignments, as needed, and will write the personal seal paragraph and record it. Then we'll see presentations about your personal seals.
